Mail Time

I love getting the mail during the holiday season. Mainly because I love receiving Christmas cards! It's strangely cool to me to find out who all knows my address...okay I know that sounds creepy, but living away from family and a lot of friends, its comforting to get a stack of Christmas cards in the mail with my name and address on them! I may be reading into this too much, but to me it means if ever I needed you or had an emergency, YOU could get to me. Well, you DO have my address :)

Hmmm...I Don't Think We Should Be Doing This

Just wanted a third vote to break the tie.

RIP Dancing Queen

I was the dancing queen,
young and free...only seventeen

And then I went to college...
I wouldn't say I was the best dancer before, but I could at the very least shake my thang without being embarrassed. Unfortunately this is not the case anymore.
I don't know what happened.
I don't know when it happened or how it happened.
I know I left high school with some rhythm. I know I made it to Fayetteville with some rhythm. I also know that I went to 2 dance clubs in my 4 years there. Maybe that was the problem: the upkeep. I was not in a sorority and didn't do the party scene. Maybe I should have....
Anyways after a fall full of weddings and fun, I am just sitting here mourning the death of my dancing skills. Sad day.
Next time you and I are at a wedding together, do me a favor and look the other way...or else you may catch me doing something ridiculous like this:

YIKES
haha check out those fake smiles looking at me....I don't blame them!

Oh, and to make matters worse, my wonderful hubby has certainly spread his wings on the dance floor. You want entertainment?- Watch him! It will be the best night of your life.
That's all for now.

SNOB

John and I use to say that we were 'poor as church mice'...now we are definitely 'poorER than church mice'. I have become such a cheap person to clothe, and feed. I know where to go out to eat where we can eat for a total of under $5.00. I wear clothing for years and years and years...seriously, ask my sisters. I have found that frozen chicken and canned veggies is the best way to cut the grocery bill. Also that cable is a treat. But here is where I don't budge: hotels

My name is Lincoln and I am a hotel snob.

I just cannot do cheap hotels. And to be completely honest, I won't even do mid level hotels. Driving home from North Carolina took us 14 hours, and we couldn't stop for the night because of ME. Hotels in general GROSS ME OUT! The carpet, the sheets, the bath, the sinks, ewww and especially the pillows and mattresses. It's really unfortunate. I mean we could maybe squeeze enough to have a mini vaca to Kansas city, or Dallas sometime, but its just not possible for me. I have to stay in a 4 star hotel at the very least.
ha
Who do I think I am?!?! Seriously!
I guess God is still working on me :)

JaLiMaLo

Just a picture I wanted to share from Thanksgiving with Gammy and Pa!

My New Loves

...are a highchair and a DVD player.
And these 2 items both happen to be from my grandparents!

Valin's highchair is awesome! He likes sitting it and watching me move about the kitchen. He likes pushing his toys off the tray, and eating anything put on the tray (mainly toys right now). Thanks Grandmommy for all the time this gift has bought me. I can make dinner, eat dinner, clean up after dinner. It is WONDERFUL!!

And the DVD player has been the cure for the carseat blues. It makes a car ride 99% easier. He still fusses regularly, but oh my word has this brought some peace and quiet to my vehicle! Thanks Gammy and Pa for the peaceful rides I get to be a part of these days!
