*Let's start with Valin. He is getting so stinkin big! He is just about 9 months, crawling, pulling up on everything, and standing on his own for short periods of time. He loves to arch his back to let us know he wants what he can't have, but overall, he is definitely a happy and easy baby! PTL!! He takes 2 naps a day, and the second one is generally for at least 2 hours, which is AWESOME! He wants to eat anything and everything, but he is still toothless, so we are gumming everything we can :)
*John is sitting in the lap of luxury with no school. He doesn't even know what to do with himself. He has taken up golfing, which at first excited me, but now I am wiser, and could almost wish it never happened... JK JK...It's just when he doesn't play well, it feels like baseball season and the cardinals have just lost...not many words are exchanged.
*Me, I'm good. I'm not even sure why, but I feel SO busy and therefore so exhausted all the time.
*We are house hunting in Little Rock, and let me tell you...
I was so excited that after 4 years of being renters, we were going to get to buy a home. But then we started the process, and I'm not going to lie: I'm not exactly enjoying it. It's stressful and ridiculously emotional. haha I can't believe I just called it emotional...but I did... (and it's true). Here is the problem: I am this girl who thinks there is this HUGE and AMAZING house for me in Little Rock, and I'm afraid reality is that this house for me is MUCH smaller and LESS nice than I would have desired. Poor John.
We are getting into a bit of a pinch for a house so it's getting more and more stressful. So for those of you who care, these are the things that I want in my house (and keep in mind, we will be there for the next 5 years, and chances are, this family will be expanding):
*nice neighborhood- and by nice, I just mean safe. Little Rock is definitely a city where there are LOTS of NOT nice neighborhoods.
*2000 sq ft. MINIMUM...and I really want something around 3000..but I know this is probably NOT going to happen
*4 beds, 3 baths
*backyard that has room to play in the grass
*2 living areas
*all on one level (I really DON'T want to have to go up and down stairs with babies... or have babies falling down stairs)
*Oh, and I want all this for basically $NOTHING$ (lol here) I know, I'm crazy, and obviously impossible to please...but there is always hope, right?!?!
So I will keep you updated on the house search.
Oh, and I promise a detailed post on 'matching in Little Rock' sometime soon...

praying you find a house. AND, I feel ya. Do you read YoungHouseLove.com? It makes me feel better about the probability of mine & Karl's first owned home not exactly being "nice." And the YHL people are just normal, non professionals. And you have excellent taste and ideas so you could totally be them! Take heart :)
Praying for your house search. Just be patient and it will come. Remember, you just need one! With a little of your good decorating, you will make it a great home.
